Overview
Wendy leads Aprio’s Chinese Practice and is a senior tax manager at the firm with 17 years of public accounting experience, focusing on strategic planning for multi-national companies on domestic and international tax and non-tax issues regarding their inbound and outbound operations. She also specializes in tax incentives, tax research, ASC740 compliance and federal, multi-state and international income tax compliance. She assists clients with analysis of transactional accounting and tax issues in the merger and acquisition due diligence process.
Experience
Wendy’s practice concentrates on public, private and foreign-owned companies across various geographies in the fields of manufacturing, wholesale, real estate, software, technology, engineering, pharmaceutical, telecommunication, transportation, e-gaming and other sectors. Her clients have operations in the Greater China Region, Asia, North America, South America and Europe.
Wendy has been advising Chinese clients from startups to exit-stage companies on their cross-border transactions between China and the U.S. for more than 13 years. She provides strategic planning on various tax and non-tax matters, manages global tax exposure and maximizes tax benefits for Chinese clients investing in the U.S.
Some unique things about me
I am a native Chinese speaking CPA and speak fluent Cantonese. I am passionate about helping my Chinese clients succeed and I enjoy helping clients overcome language and cultural barriers to keep communications flowing between Chinese & US Teams.
When I am not at work
I serve on the Advisory Board for the Symposium on ASIA-USA Partnership Opportunities (SAUPO), presented by the Asian Studies Program at Kennesaw State University. I am also a member of many other professional organizations, including:

Education & Affiliations
Prior to joining Aprio, Wendy worked at a local public accounting firm in Atlanta for six years, serving small to mid-size corporate clients as well as high net worth individuals. Wendy earned a Master’s Degree in Accounting at Kennesaw State University. Wendy is an active contributor to Aprio newsletters and a frequent speaker in Aprio webinars and training classes. She has a passion to serve the Chinese community, including serving as a lead in Atlanta Contemporary Chinese Academy (West)’s incentive program. Her professional involvement includes:
